India tells off OIC: Advise you to not comment on India's internal affairs



NEW DELHI: At the UN yesterday, India solidly and unequivocally+ told the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) that it would be in an ideal situation not remarking on India's interior undertakings, announced ANI.

India was answering to remarks on Kashmir made by Pakistan, which was utilizing the OIC to remark on the harried state, similar to its wont. Pakistan made its remarks for the benefit of the OIC, of which it is a part.

India said this was out of line.

"Association of Islamic Cooperation has no locus standi on India's inward issues, we emphatically encourage the OIC to cease from making such references in future," said Sumit Seth, first secretary at the Permanent Mission of India to UN.

Seth conveyed his reaction utilizing the 'right of answer', after Pakistan, in the interest of the OIC, put forth its expression.

The OIC is a 57-country body which says it is "the aggregate voice of the Muslim world".

The OIC has made remarks on Kashmir a few times over the years+ . In one late such case in July, the OIC discussed "net human rights infringement in Kashmir" and said the Kashmir question represented a danger to the peace and security of the locale. The OIC made these remarks at a remote priests' meeting in Cote d'Ivoire.

At the meeting, Sartaj Aziz, at that point counsel to the Pakistan PM, talked about "Indian monstrosities" in the Kashmir Valley following the slaughtering of Hizbul Mujahideen fear monger Burhan Wani on July 8 a year ago.

In April, the OIC went so far as to state it "backs Pakistan" on the Kashmir issue and included that it trusts that there is a need to put "weight" on India on the issue of charged human rights infringement in the state.

Pakistan, in the mean time, dependably rakes up the respective issue on global discussions.

In May, at a meeting of the OIC, Pakistan raised the Kashmir issue with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, announced PTI.
